Fearless Conversations about Racism
Fearless Conversations about Racism
An enrichment activity for students interested in social justice, theater, filmmaking, audio-visual technology, civics, and social studies. Students will interview peers about a racial justice topic such as Black Lives Matter, then create a short film based on the interview. Background and historic information, as well as suggestions about how students can learn more, will be solicited from the participants.
Intradistrict collaboration is envisioned where students share their films with another school and engage in panel discussions with each other as well as members from our NAACP Speakers Bureau. This project is being piloted in the Windham Middle School and Oakgrove Montessori School.
