Excerpt from Fight the Power by Public Enemy.

From the heart, it’s a start, a work of art
To revolutionize, make a change, nothing’s strange
People, people, we are the same
No, we’re not the same, ’cause we don’t know the game
What we need is awareness, we can’t get careless

Gary Ralls, Second Vice President of the Windham-Willimantic NAACP Branch and loving husband of Leah Ralls, our president, passed away November 23, 2020 surrounded by family and friends.

Gary Ralls - Second Vice President

Gary joined Leah in forming a dynamic duo who dedicated their lives to fight for the protection of civil rights. They were instrumental in the reactivation of Branch #2016b in the Northeast corner of Connecticut. Gary’s voice reflected his experience as a 60-year-old Black man that grew up in the United States and used that knowledge to guide his contributions within the leadership of the branch. His persistence, compassion and conviction will continue to resonate in the life of this chapter.
